Get Up ‘N Dance
Princeton toured Get Up ‘N Dance, a 1970’s disco revue featuring KC & the Sunshine Band, the Pointer Sisters, the Village People, Thelma Houston, Martha Wash of the Weathergirls, Maxine Nightingale, Anita Ward, and the Trammps, featuring Earl Young, with strobe lights and disco balls hanging from the rafters. Showcasing instantly-recognizable hits like “That’s The Way (I Like It),” “Get Down Tonight,” “Shake Shake Shake,” and “Boogie Shoes,” the crowds filled the floor, dancing along from start to finish.
The evening also included a costume contest and a mural fans were encouraged to paint or write slogans on. Other artists leading the dancing through the night included members of the Pointer Sisters (“I’m So Excited”), Thelma Houston (“Don’t Leave Me This Way”), Anita Ward (“Ring My Bell”), The Trammps (“Disco Inferno”), and Maxine Nightingale (“Right Back Where We Started From”).
